Weathering steel — officially Cor-Ten® — is a special alloy with added copper, phosphorus and chromium. When exposed to the weather, it develops a protective patina: a stabilised rust-coloured layer that prevents further corrosion.

Contact usWeathering steel (Cor-Ten®) develops a protective patina when exposed to the atmosphere. This layer prevents corrosion and extends lifespan by 4–8× compared to ordinary steel.
The patina stabilises within 1 to 3 years. In the early phase the colour is light orange, gradually darkening to deep brown.
Weathering steel is practically maintenance-free. It needs only occasional inspection and cleaning. No painting required.
